The association “Bio-Tech-Region OstWestfalenLippe e.V.“ located at the Bielefeld Technology Centre is a network of businesses, higher education establishments, other institutions and interested individuals who support the development of regional activities in biotechnology. 

Its main objectives are:

• Advancement of biotechnology in East Westfalia Lippe
• Enhancement of transfer between scientific pure research and practical applications
• Representation of the interests of regional biotechnology establishments
• Provision of information for potential business start-ups
• Maintenance of contacts with ministries, authorities, other organisations and the media
• Public relations and educational work
